Dental Bridges – Dayton, OH

Complete Your Smile With A Natural-Looking Solution

If you are missing one or several consecutive teeth, our dentists may recommend a dental bridge to help you repair your smile. Drs. Quinttus, Budde, and Sullivan can match the color and size of your bridge with your natural teeth to restore your smile back to its ideal health. We invite you to contact us at Rahn Dental Group if you would like more information about a dental bridge in Dayton, Ohio. When you leave gaps in your smile, it could cause your existing natural teeth to shift to fill in the holes and make it harder to do basic tasks like brush and floss.

What is a Dental Bridge?

Dental bridges are non-removable dental restorations that are used to literally bridge the gaps caused by missing teeth. Our dentists may recommend a dental bridge if you are missing one or more teeth in a row to help avoid oral health problems down the road and improve your ability to eat and speak. When you receive a dental bridge, our dentists will place two custom made dental crowns and use them to anchor your bridge. These crowns will keep your new artificial tooth in place, ensuring that it doesn’t shift or loosen. Dental bridges typically require two visits to our office and last for many years.

What’s the Process of Getting a Bridge?

When you visit Rahn Dental Group to get your new restoration, we’ll start by preparing the teeth that will anchor your bridge in place. For the crown to be placed over them, we’ll remove a small portion of enamel. Next, we’ll make impressions of the teeth and send them off to our dental laboratory to make your custom-fitted crowns to our specifications. In the meantime, we’ll fit the area we’ve prepared with a temporary bridge until the permanent one arrives.

Once we receive your permanent restoration, we’ll call you in for your second appointment. After removing your temporary bridge, we’ll make sure the permanent one fits well and make any necessary final adjustments. Using dental cement, we’ll attach the bridge permanently into place.

How Do I Take Care of My Restoration?

Maintaining healthy and strong teeth to support your bridge is very important because that’s what will be holding the restoration in place. Be sure to brush twice each day and floss daily. Use an antibacterial mouthwash daily to reduce the number of harmful oral bacteria in your mouth and prevent tooth decay. Lastly, remember to schedule your semi-annual checkups and cleanings so our team can treat the small problems before they progress.
