A damaged tooth can be painful, unsightly, and detrimental to your oral health. At Rahn Dental Group, we can restore dental function, comfort, and appearance with durable crowns, inlays, and onlays.
Long-lasting and natural-looking, a crown sits snugly atop a structurally unsound tooth to reinforce strength and guard against future damage. Crowns look and function like natural teeth and require the same care.
We may suggest an inlay or onlay for an area of damage or decay that doesn’t require a full crown but is too large for a filling to adequately repair. Inlays fit between the cusps, or bumps, of a tooth. Onlays cover one or more bumps.
Our dentists use all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM), or gold crowns, inlays, and onlays, depending on tooth location and the amount of stress the tooth incurs. To produce your dental work, we’ll take a 3D image of your tooth. Your restoration will be milled in-office using our CEREC machine or handmade at a lab. CEREC-produced restorations can be designed and placed in one visit. Lab-produced crowns, inlays, and onlays take two visits to design and place.
